The Merricks

It all started 30 years ago at the kitchen table. LaFonda and Tim were told they owed more on their taxes because Tim was a contractor and not an employee. LaFonda questioned the tax preparer to discover how this could happen without their knowledge. She wanted to understand how this one difference changed their tax situation.

During the meeting the tax preparer realized LaFonda had the ability to grasp tax rules after only a few minutes of discussion. She encouraged the then doctor's secretary to pursue a career as a tax preparer.

LaFonda discovered she not only had a knack for understanding complex nuances of the IRS tax code, she relished sniffing out which tax regulation would benefit her clients to the maximum. Nicknamed "The Bloodhound" by the guards at the Oregon State Penitentiary, she has used her skills for the last 30 years to benefit every client who walks through her doors.

While LaFonda prepares the returns, Tim manages what is termed the "Back Office" production of checking for tax return accuracy, submitting information to the IRS, secure document management, and assembly of individually tailored client tax packets.
