Nope... and you NEVER will. We hate scrolling through endless Ads too! You will never see an ad or a sponsored listing mixed in with the catalog!
We feel the practice of displaying listings based on sponsorship negatively effects free trade, by shifting a significant number of sales towards whatever company or product has the most financial backing. This crushes ingenuity and new ideas. We say, people are smart! Let them make up their own minds and vote with their dollars and reviews!
With that said, sponsorships are an important part of keeping the service running. So, you will see well-marked, relevant company sponsorships placed in the most effective, non-intrusive places possible. In addition to sponsorships, It is very important for users to be engaged by providing feedback, reviews and to Contribute to platform development. This will enable us to continually provide only pure, good ol' merit based Catalog Listings. That way, the best quality products/companies thrive, while the worst, well... don't.

How does LoPro protect my data?
We feel like user data security is more critical now, than ever before. We have gone through particularly lengthy efforts to protect your data. While we can't give you extensive details here, since the bad guys can see this as well, here's what we do to protect you!
User Data:
- We store all your data on a secure zero access server. Only top level
administrators with a multiple levels of credentials can access our data stores.
- Our custom app has a robust permissions system, which is rigorously tested to ensure data can only be accessed when and where it's needed.
- Personal data is never visible to the public. It is only shared with your permission and only as needed to facilitate the sale. You are always notified before we share your information with any other user.
- All sensitive data is stored with 100% compliance to PCI standards (The same standards Credit Card companies are required to use).
- We will NEVER sell user data or expose non-anonymous data, for any reason, unless required by law!
Company Data:
Our baseline data protection standards for Companies are the same as all the User Data above.
However, a company faces some unique challenges. As a business owner, you want your contact information to be as visible as possible for your customers, while keeping your internal contacts strictly protected. However, it seems these days that as soon as you add your information to a new site, you get a never ending stream of spam, which you now have to filter or review. The only way to stop this cycle is to change your public contact information which always results in lost customers.
In order to solve this problem:
- Our custom security system is highly tuned to detect and block unwanted bot traffic. We are able to block more than 99% of the bad bots attempting to harvest data from our pages. The remaining 1% are identified through our custom sifting process and flagged as suspicious. If they continue suspicious activity, we permanently block their access. Greatly reducing your exposure to bad actors.
- All company contact information, requires your customer to have an account to access. Further reducing the number of bad bots able to access your information.
- All sensitive company information is sent to the webpage using a proprietary encryption method. Preventing bots from harvesting your data from plain text, while still allowing your legitimate customers to have full access.
- Finally, our custom app has several non-standard methods for allowing users to interact with our site. These methods are engineered to make it extremely difficult for a bot to harvest your information.
